Frequently Asked Question

My laptop screen keeps falling asleep in the middle of a class presentation!
Last Updated about a month ago

By default, Windows laptops dim or sleep quickly to save battery power. You can change this behavior for when you are plugged into a wall outlet:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Power & battery.
  2. Click on Screen and sleep to expand the options.
  3. Change the setting for "When plugged in, turn off my screen after..." and "When plugged in, put my device to sleep after..." to a longer duration (like 1 hour or Never) so your presentations aren't interrupted.
